Title: Discovering the Willamette: Past, Present and Future of Oregon’s Biggest River

Description: The Willamette River may be nature’s greatest gift to Salem—and Oregon. Rick Bastasch, who worked for many years on Willamette River issues, will describe how the River came to be; how it has nurtured both wild and human communities; its place in our history; and what the future may hold for the Willamette and its people.

Summer programs each Tuesday from 7:00-8:00 at Riverfront Park consists of topics related to the area around the new pedestrian bridge being constructed from Riverfront Park to Minto Brown Island. This is a partnership between SEE and City of Salem Parks Department. Programs are free and open to the public.
