Oregon is home to a rich array of reptile and amphibians. In this presentation expert Mark Leppin will cover select species of reptiles and amphibians native to northwestern Oregon. On top of learning traits for identifying these reptiles and amphibians, he will also go into adaptations, behavior, and special topics related to these species. Special topics will consist of a more extensive view on a characteristic of a covered species, like the famed toxicity of the Rough-skinned Newt. Although there is no field trip for this program, some of Oregon’s native reptiles and amphibians will be in attendance. The class is held at the Straub Environmental Learning Center from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Cost for the class is $5. For more information go online to salemee.org or contact Jon Yoder at joyoder@wildblue.net
