There are a many biking opportunities and several support organizations for riders of all ability levels in and around Salem. Learn about local biking opportunities along with information on laws and rules of the road and the variety of equipment available to make riding safer and easier. Information will also be provided about current efforts in Salem to make it a more bike friendly city.
Cycling in and around Salem-Keizer (Hersch Stangster – President Salem Bicycle Club)
This presentation will highlight several of the Salem Bicycle Club’s rides as well as the more challenging Monster Cookie event. Information on some of the rules and laws of the road and some of the types of equipment available will also be provided.
Comfortable Cycling in the City (Angela Obery – Salem Bike Boulevard Advocates)
Riding a bike needn’t be an option for only the brave and the strong. Comfortable cycling, for riders of all ages and abilities, can be a reality in Salem. Salem Bike Boulevard Advocates is working to bring “low stress” cycling to a neighborhood near you. Join the fun!
