Silver Falls State Park is well known for its ten magnificent waterfalls. What visitors may miss during their visit, though, is the magnificent diversity of wildflowers present in the park. This program led by Park Ranger Matt Palmquist will provide an introduction to the wildflowers found in diverse areas of the park, from deep forests to open meadows, and some of their traditional uses. The following Saturday hike will be a chance to see some of these flowers in bloom. The class is held at the Straub Environmental Learning Center (1320 A. St.) from 7:00-8:30 p.m. with a field trip to be arranged for the following Saturday. Cost for the class is $5 and cost for the field trip is $10.
